Baked Cheddar Dijon Chicken Tenders

This is a meal I made one evening when I literally had the bare minimum in the pantry and fridge and it turned out so delicious, in fact I'm super surprised I haven't shared it sooner.  I must admit that I was skeptical about the Cheez-Its and the Dijon Mustard, but the flavor combo worked really well together and was a nice departure from a regular Chicken Tender Meal.  Find the recipe from Just A Taste and let me know what you think!

FREE Baby Stuff

Hi Friends! It seems like my time here is getting few and far in between, which is not my intention.  Sometimes life just takes over, and it has been a busy month for our family as we are preparing for baby and settling back into "post summer" life.  Hopefully, I will be able to find my "blogging balance" again soon!

Today I did want to drop by and share some free goodies for expecting parents.  A close friend of mines who is also expecting sent me these fabulous coupon codes and all you have to do is pay shipping!  Now some of this stuff I'm not sure if I will use so I didn't order it, but I thought I should still share the wealth :-)  I will be back with my report once my goodies arrive!

Anniversary Trip: Orlando

Hello Friends, it's been a busy summer for us but we recently got to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary with a much needed but quick trip to Orlando, FL a few days ago.  My sister and I grew up visiting Orlando, but my husband did not, so the last couple of visits with him have been so much fun introducing him to the things that I loved growing up.  Here are a few highlights from Cocoa Beach and Epcot.

Upholstered Shelf

If you follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram, you already know my husband and I are expecting a bundle of joy in late December.  Ever since we found out it's been a mad dash for me to finish up projects in the house before we have a little one filling our hearts and time.  I've been wanting to put some sort of backing on this shelf in our living room for some time now.  I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it at Ikea years ago, they took it off the market and replaced it with the Kallax just as I was planning on purchasing the original version, finally pulled the trigger on purchasing in after we bought our house, then realized that you could see all the cords that connect to the TV behind it.  So a few weeks ago, we picked a fabric from U-FAB, ordered it,  and armed with my staple gun ... VIOLA!

All in all, i'm super pleased at the way the living room is turning out.  A few more projects and accessories and it will perfect for our growing family!

Black Bean and Beef Enchilada Bake

Today's Black Bean and Beef Enchilada Bake recipe comes from Julia's Album blog.  I am a lover of all Spanish, Tex-Mex, anything of that sort, kind of food, so this casserole is right up my ally.

Once the invites went out I was super excited for the day of the Favorite Things Party!  This year did not disappoint, with 7 other extraordinary women, tons of food, laughs and gifts to share, we had a blast!  Our morning brunch lasted almost until dinner time!  We all have hectic schedules so it really is a blessing when we can all come together and spend time with one another :-)

Loft Gallery Wall

When I think of Gallery Wall's I think of bunches of photo's, so I'm not even sure this is considered a Gallery Wall, maybe more like a "Memorabilia Wall" of items we used and received during our wedding.  I started by gathering a bunch of stuff and laying it out on the carpet in the loft (sorry for the bold pattern behind the random items).  Some of the things I opted not to hang for fear of clutter, other things I'd like to get a shadow box of some sort to store them in.  I think I have a nice start, but i'm still on the fence about if I should hang a few more or leave it as is, what do you think?

Spring Wreath

One day when going through the mail I was struck by the color combination used on a post card that was sent to us.  In need of a new spring wreath, I knew that color combination would be perfect.  After visiting several craft stores with my postcard in hand, I finally found the right shades of yarn to make my vision a reality, even better, I was able to get it made and on the door before Easter.

Materials:
5 colors of Yarn (Found at Hobby Lobby)
Foam Wreath Form
Glue Gun
Scissors
Wooden Letter
Spray Paint

First, I spray painted my Monogram L white so it would stand out against the wreath and dark door.  While it was drying I began working on the actual wreath.  Take the yarn and wrap it around the wreath form tightly, tie the next color and continue.  Make sure all the tied sections are in the back of the wreath and will be against the door.  I free handed each section, in hindsight I should have measured out each section for accuracy.  Once I was done, I used the glue gun to attach the L, and Voila!

Apple Pie Pancakes

Like most of us, I try and use fresh produce in a timely manner.  One morning I realized I had an apple that was starting to get a little on the softer side and didn't want to toss it.  After a quick search I found this recipe from Averie Cooks for Apple Pie Pancakes.  Surprisingly, my husband LOVED them and talked about them all week, so it will definitely be a breakfast I make again.

Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo is a staple in our house, that's my husbands go to meal and we eat it more time than I care to admit.  I was getting a little tired of the same old same old but didn't want to completely ban it from our household.  As always, Pinterest to the rescue!  This Simple Homemade Alfredo Sauce from My Crazy Blessed Life was exactly what we needed to add some pizzaz to a meal we usually use store bought, pre-made ingredients.  Not only was it super simple to make, it was extra creamy and we could season as we pleased.
