Tres Leches Cake

Who said we can't start with dessert?  The next series of posts are inspired by a going away Fiesta my friends and I threw for another friend who is relocating.  We had a whole menu of Spanish inspired foods, fun crafty decorations, and even Spanish music.  Today we are starting with dessert, Tres Leches Cake.  If you have never tried this toasty dessert, you don't know what you're missing out on!

YUMMY! Warm Old Fashioned Apple Pie and scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream is an irresistible dessert! Housewarming Gift (Part 1)

About a year ago a friend of mine came to visit and he admired some artwork that I created that was hanging in my living room.  I promised to do the same for him when he bought a house one day.  Fast forward one year later and it is time for me to break out some paints!  I am so happy for him and enjoyed every moment of this project.

Asian Marinated Pork Chops

Ten Dollar Dinners is becoming one of my favorite shows on the Food Network.  Melissa d'Aarabian makes tasty and economic meals.  Asian Marinated Pork Chops is a simple and easy meal packed with plenty of flavor!  Paired with Jasmine Rice and a simple salad, this meal is simply divine!

Home Office DIY

Sometimes apartment living doesn't permit for a full blown office, especially when I would rather have room for entertaining.  A few months ago design genius Nate Berkus showed this idea for a gorgeous DIY home office that takes minimal space and is stylish as well.  Maybe I fell in love with this idea so quickly because the inside was painted purple!

Soon after, I saw this beauty on Pinterest via Martha Stewart (tutorial).  I'm currently deciding which project I want to embark on.  Which option captures your heart?

Care Package

My sister is graduating from college this week and was experiencing a small case of senioritis during her exams.  I thought it would be a sweet gesture and a bit encouraging to send a care package full of her favorite foods and a few fun things to help keep her focused.

This gift was easy to make!  I made a list of her favorite foods, took a trip to Target and Dollar Tree.  Picked up a medium sized flat rate box and packed as many goodies as I could inside.

Take a peek below at what was in her surprise!

Steak Pizzaiola Pasta

This meal was adapted from Rachael Ray's Steak Pizzaiola & Pasta recipe in the March Issue of Rachael Ray Magazine.  Using all the ingredients found in the issue, I simply combined each component over pasta and came up with a tasty and filling pasta dish.  The only thing I would add was another can of tomato sauce (seasoned to taste of course!).  Try the recipe both ways and let me know what you think!
