Vanilla Bean Scones

Today I have another breakfast treat,  Vanilla Bean Scones courtesy of Paula Deen.  Feeling a tad fancy over Derby weekend, I decided to give this recipe a try.  What a tasty pastry for any breakfast or mid morning snack!

The Value of a Wedding Planner

Last month one of my friends and fellow planner did a post on her blog that I thought was worth sharing.  Often times brides don't understand the value of a wedding planner or undestand why we price our services the way we do.  Keisha's post gives excellent insight to why "I Can't be Your $500 Wedding Planner."  Hop on over to her blog, So Haute Weddings and check it out!

French Toast

This past weekend my sister came to visit and we had great time sleeping in, shopping, visiting family & friends and eating!  The morning she was planning to leave we were lounging around watching an episode of Sandwich King with Jeff Mauro and he happened to be making a sandwich called Razzle Dazzle French Toast.  Feeling inspired we decided whip up this beauty before my sister headed home.  Enjoy!

Chicken Cutlet Sandwich

Rachael Ray does it again!  While simple, this recipe was a huge hit one night when we were babysitting our favorite little people.  The kids had a blast making the sides (we had Loaded Baked Potato Dip and fries), mixing the spread and building their Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches.  At the end of the night we had four full tummies and 2 happy little girls!

Wedding Music

Wedding music, I must admit it has been one of the categories I've been least interested in like attire, hair and make-up.  But it proved to a fun and interesting challenge one Saturday afternoon as we spent hours selecting and deciding on music for key parts of our ceremony and reception.  During that afternoon I stumbled upon this nifty website, The Wedding Music Project, filled with downloadable options of traditional and popular wedding music.

What kind of music did you select for key parts of your big day?

Pan-Seared Ravioli with Peas, Bacon and Mint

This will definitely be a new favorite in our house.  The combination of peas, bacon and mint is a surprising flavor combo of earthy, savory and fresh.  Perfect for spring & summer entertaining or a weeknight dinner for two.  The recipe for Pan-Seared Ravioli with Peas, Bacon and Mint can be found in the April 2013 of Everyday with Rachael Ray Magazine.
