Custom Cake Toppers

This is probably the best custom work I've seen as far as weddings go.  Who ever crafts these special toppers has some serious talent!  Surf on over to The You-Nique Boutique to swoon over their work.  Not only do the toppers look like the people they are supposed to represent, but you can add fun touches like sports gear, fun props, or animals.

Chicken Pesto Sandwich

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Damn Delicious Blog!  If you are looking for a new, fun recipe to spice up your life Chung-Ah and see what this foodie is cooking up.  Her Chicken Pesto Sandwich is probably the best sandwich I've eaten in a really long time, I could seriously eat it for a week straight and never get tired of it.  In fact, I served this the weekend my family came to go wedding dress shopping with me and my mom & sister (who aren't experimental eaters, except for when I cook of course!) could not stop raving about this sandwich.

OUR WEDDING: Check List Update - 5 Months

Less than 5 months to go and we are soooo excited!  We have all of our vendors booked, projects decided and some of our bridal party has even received their dresses and tuxes!  August can't get here soon enough!

This month we:
-Began working on the ceremony
-Chosen some musical selections
-Finalized our honeymoon plans
-Ordered components for DIY projects
-Finalized our invitations
-Ordered our invitations
-Booked a stationer for ceremony signage
-Placed orders or other "details" of our big day
-Decided on date & location for engagement photos
-Began working on timeline with our wedding planner
-Contacted venue for rehearsal dinner

Next month we plan to:
-Finalize ceremony
-Narrow down musical selections
-Book our honeymoon
-Take our engagement photo's
-Book rehearsal dinner location
-Work on invitations for rehearsal dinner
-Look into wedding day transportation

Cards & Pocket Invitations

If you're in the process of planning any type of event and in need of invitations, you should take a look at Cards & Pockets.  As we were deciding on invitation designs for our wedding, I came across this sight as an option, they provide everything from DIY to complete invitation assembly which is great for a bride on a budget.

Mile High Lasagna

I hope you all enjoyed February's recipe's my sister whipped up via Pinterest.  Today I'm back with a delish Mile High Lasagna recipe that came with my new Rachael Ray pan.  Lasagna has always been an intimidating recipe for me, but I found the nerve somewhere and with Rach's help ended up making a pretty scrumptious meal.  The best part, it made so much I had no choice but to invite a few friends over for dinner!

OUR WEDDING: The Date

By now you might have assumed we have selected a date for our wedding, as evidence from our 7 Month Update.  We will be married on August 16, 2013.  This date is very special to me because my parents got married on that date, 27 years ago this year which was when my great grandparents were married too.  In fact, when my parents got married, it was my great grandparents 50th anniversary and they renewed their vows before my parents ceremony.  Because of this significance Kimili and I felt that this date couldn't be more appropriate for our wedding.
